Default Need help with 99 civic ECU

I have a 99 civic hb and a buddy if mine told me if i got a 97 sohc motor w/ harness and ecu it all should plug and work since previous owner cut all the plugs off the old harness. All the plugs plug into the ecu except the one not from the harness. Can I go to the junk and get that plug and rewire it or am I in a pit too deep to get out since I need it running by this weekend.

I don't see why it wouldn't work. They are both OBD2a, so the harnesses should be identical.

'99 is obd2b. The plugs will be different.

Yeah, you're right. Civics changed over to OBD2b in 99 and Integras changed over in 2000.

You can buy a conversion harness that will convert your OBD2b plugs into OBD2a plugs.

Thanks for the info. The problem I have is that I have a complete 97 sohc motor with ecu and engine harness and I was told it would fit and plug up and start in my 99 ek. I got the harness because old one was missing some plugs and ecu plugs were all cut up. The main question I have is can i go to a junk yard, buy the fourth harness plug, and rewire it to work in my 99 ek. I believe the fourth plug is the one from the dash(the plug that is not attached to the engine harness) Oh and my axles are from a 93 civic, they should fit into my ek too right?

So all the plugs fit in the ECU, but your missing one? If this is the case, you could do as you stated and re-wire with the missing plug obtained from a junkyard. Im not sure about the axels, do a search...
