Gears don't work?? :(

97 Honda Civic HX Manual

I just got done doing some repairs on my 97' Civic. I replaced the front right axle, front and rear brakes and one wheel cylinder. then bled the brakes.

Well today I took the car for a test drive and as I went around the block and shifted down, the car lost it's gear and wouldn't go into gear at all. It just revs as if it's in neutral. WTF did I do? did I break something. The car will start when i push in the clutch but will not go into gear!! Help please

sounds like the axle isn't completely into the differential in the transmission

Axle Fubared

If the axle did not snap into place all the way it is possible it popped out, not all the way just enough to where the splines can't engage the diff assy. Remove the axle and check the end of the splines to see if they are damaged. If they are damaged you may need to get a new axle or take it someone who can repair it. This is the most common mistake of all people who do repairs themselves so don't feel bad or get pissed off. It is a very easy fix. Hope I've helped.
