Hey everybody my name is Jason and I own a 99 Civic EX and it was an auto. I already took it to and engine swap place and they have the b18b from an LS bolted in and it runs although not too good. It had a funny idle and kinda is jumpy when you are driving it. Its kinda hard to explain it just is jerky when you push the gas. I really dont think the mechanics know what the problem is so I thought I would ask yall. What do yall think? Try and answer these for me:
1 What ECU should we be using?
2 He keeps saying a new distributor from a different car could this be it?
3 Think of anything else it could be

 

Did you have an auto B18B swapped in?

 

no it was standard and I had my converted to a standard. Anyone know whats up with the problem?

Give me detail on what your problem is. Being jerky could be anything.


You have an obd2 car, you swap should be obd2. You can do an obd1 swap with a wiring harnass. You should be using the ecu out of the donor car. But you do have other options available to you. Like chipping a some sohc obd1 ecu's for your dohc setup.
