Default Disadvantages to VTEC Turbo?

I've got a b16a1 and have thought about forced induction.. I know a lot of people think the b18b is a better way to go when running a turbo app... Is there any good reason not to turbo a b16?

Mainly tuning because of the compression ratio on your B16 head. A lot of people think turbo VTEC introduces a lot of problems, and in reality it does, but it all depends on the tune.

Tuning is key with DOHC VTEC engines, and since the B18B has a lower compression ratio and no VTEC there is more room for 'error' in the tune (as far as A/F goes)

Yep, It's like hitting full boost twice. The only reason that I can think of NOT boosting a b16a (or any motor) is availability of funds. If you don't have funds readily available you shouldn't be boosting any motor, besides that it comes down to working with what you have and how much money you have to spend.

Lol, people still believe that? Mind explaining why you believe the ls has better gearing for a turbocharged b-series motor?

not true.
shorter gearing will ALWAYS out accelerate taller gearing at the sacrifice or a lower top speed, turbo or not. (traction will be a whole separate issue, but with a good driver, this is not a factor).

Exactly, now I doubt this guys going to respond because everybody has pointed out how wrong he is. I was really looking forward to hearing his theory as to why longer gearing is better for boost.
Really the only time you should look into longer gearing is if your running out of gear before the end of the track. Then longer gears are in order for that purpose....
