Default Crank pulley

Picked up a new crank pulley for my b18c1. Only runs 1 belt, which is great, considering I no longer have AC or PS.

Changed my timing belt and water pump. Discovered that the belt still has its little hash marks on it and the pump is in pristine condition. Apparently it was changed.

But anyway, I've broken two belts trying to hold the crank pulley steady while torquing down the crank bolt. My compressor doesn't quite lend my impact enough power to get it on properly.

Is there a trick to this? I've checked everywhere looking for the crank pulley tool, and the closest availabilty is 4 weeks. Should I just plop this beast into 5th and wrench on it?

Yup just put it into 5th and do what you can. Having a small compressor blows!

Even in 5th with a friends foot on the brake, I couldn't get the bolt torqued properly before the engine started turning

sounds cheesy but stick a BEEFY screwdriver to stop the flywheel from turning. Should do the trick. have you tried a chain strpa wrench?

Gotta love the 500 psi guns out there.

My pulley increased my trap speeds by 1 mph and knocked off about 0.2 seconds off my quarter mile times....

or maybe my driving got better...
