90 Integra GS won't start + s3 light
 

Weird problem with engine not turning over when car's been in hot sun all day - automatic sport tranny light s3 flashes repeatedly when pooch is screwed...

Seems to be getting plenty of spark, just not crankin'. Battery test fine, don't think it's vapor lock 'cause hook some jumper cables to it and it cranks right up.

Maybe coincidence, but the other day the tranny was stuck in 4th from startup - no up/dn shift on road, just crawled up to speed. No effect when I tried manually shifting through rest of gears. s3 light was flashing again the whole time, mocking me. . .

Will buy tech manual from eBay but no time to wait b4 car's going back in the shop. In the meantime, I'd really appreciate any help with specific s3 error.

sounds like relay related. some early 90s hondas have problems with starting when it's hot. try opening all doors and let it air out for a minute and see if that works.

Relay may be the problem for the start up.

Try changing the fluid and fliter in your tranny to see if it helps at all with the shifting problem.
