B18C into EG DX sedan pt. 1 (help!)
ran into a few problems. so far, we got the motor in the car.
1. DC2 harness O2 2 prong vs. EG8 harness 02 4 prong? How do make it work? Maybe im not wiring that up right.
2. Heater core hardline.... the rubber hose from the firewall that mounts to it is too short...did you change the hose or curved it to fit?
3. Civic side mounts (bolts to the frame)...use Integra...or Civic?
4. To keep power steering...which pump?...which bracket? (integra pump...integra bracket?)
I think theres' more...but im so tired...i cant think of it right now. Any imput is appreciated...i'll keep this post updated. Thanks

DX should be a 4-wire O2 sensor, same as the B18C. I think you might have the wrong plug.
I just used the B18C hoses and plugged them into the heater opening valve and firewall plugs as needed. I also used a USDM engine (you just said B18C so I'm guessing it's a JDM engine) too so that might affect it if the stock hoses expect the heater core to be on the other side. You might need USDM GS-R hoses but you can probably get parts store hose to work.
Do you mean the parts under the frame rail that the lower tranny and engine mounts attach to. You have to use the Civic pieces as the Integra one's wont work. The Civic's are shaped like a upside U with the bottom open and bolt over a plate on the bottom of the frame rail. The Integra units are also a reverse U but the bottom has a plate across it. You either have to use the Civic pieces or drill and pound off the plate from the bottom of the frame rails (you also need Civic ES inserts if you use the Civic pieces and mount inserts).
I never had PS so I'm not sure. From what I understand, you can use the Integra pump but only certain one's. I don't know all the specifics since I never needed to. I think you just use all Integra pieces and bolt the Civic lines to it though.

sweet thanks andy
actually we finished the swap. the motor is a USDM...the heater hose we just bent around to meet up with the hardline.
as for the mounts...we found that we needed the civic ones b/c of exactly what you said about the U shape.
power steering im still trying to find out....i heard i need a integra pump and lines.
02 works now...we found the correct plug

I've got the old Integra pump off my '95 B18C1 somewhere if you want me to get a picture of it and you can see if it looks like it would work. My '92 CX never had PS so I didn't use it and I was saving it if I ever did a swap into '98 EX but I just sold my GS-R tranny a while ago and I might try to sell it after I get my Nissan running and winters over.

I looked under a GSR...and it seems like the pump is very slim. It should bolt up with the GSR bracket as I heard. I just need the pump and lines.
Here's a pic of the setup right now... the P/S pump is just sitting there. We had to cram it in and bolt the bottom up to the bracket to keep it in place.

The civic pump will work on the GSR bracket, but you will only be able to bolt up the top bolt. I now use a GSR pump/bracket and had the fitting end from a GSR welded onto my civic ps hose so that it uses the connections for the civic on the steering rack, but uses the gsr connection to the pump.
hih man. Congrats!
btw, a GSR ps hose will not bolt up to the civic steering rack. The way that the hardline is routed is completely different and you really can't bend it without crushing it.
