ECU question
Need advice....i got ls vtec with pistons, rods..turbo...what will i have to do with my Ecu....i'm runnin a type R ecu...will my engine get messed up if i don't hurry up and do something
Well since you are running turbo, you'd be best off to get a Hondata and a dyno session. And quit complaining.

If your running a turbo, you need a whole lot of fuel. A turbo even at low boost can jam a lot more air into an engine that it could ever by itself. Are you using a custom built turbo setup or a pre-assembled kit (like Drag or Gredddy's). If your not using any kind of fuel enrichment setup (boost dependant fuel pressure regulator, tuned computer with bigger injectors, addition injectors bofore the TB) your going to blow your engine apart. With the extra air and no extra fuel, you'll run lean. Lean = Hot and the engine will start to detonate (fuel/air exploding when you don't want it to). You need to come up with sometime to compensate for the extra air.
A crude soltuion is something like a Vortech boost dependant fuel pressure reguilator. Basically it's read the amount of vacuum in the engine, and forces the fuel pressure in the rail up real high when it sees boost. The extra pressure gets slammed through the injectors. This is a crude system but it's cheap and it works with low boost levels. If your planning to run higher boost you'll probably want to go with bigger injectors and either a Hondata or stand-alone engine management to control them. That is obviously, must more expensive. Explore your options and see what you need. Seeya.
