HOLLY35 , tell me how u know so much about hondas. I ve worked as a honda tech for alittle over 2 years at a dealership but I learned most from watching my dad (he worked for honda for 20 yrs as their "mastertech"). I was very impressed since u are only a year younger then me , are u going to school for it?

No , I just replaced the cap cause I had an extra lying around , plus I'm too cheap . I'll go and buy one anyways.

So it looks like I need an IAC valve huh. That thing is like $200 sumthin

I doubt it is the IACV..I thought that was what it was too for the exact same symptoms, and I bought a brand spanking new IACV and it still does it.

Another POSSIBILITY is air in the cooling system. The temp sensor is at the high point in the cooling system, where air bubbles would tend to gather. When the engine's warmed up, an air bubble under the sensor would make it report "cold." When the air bubble moves away, the sensor would report "warm." So the ECU drives the car back and forth between cold idle (high) and warm idle (lower).

If this is the problem, the fix is to bleed the cooling system.

not the cooling...here is a list of wonderful things I have tried:
Brand new from the dealer IACV
brand new pcv
brand new dizzy
all vacuum hoses checked, rechecked, and checked again.
All coolant lines blead with temp control on full heat blasting to even get the bubbles out of the heater hoses.
not throwing any codes....so basically I just live with it...give the car a lil time when she starts up for the first time in the day and thats that.

problem of the week,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, sounds like another bad EGR valve. Find the valve and see if you can freely move the diaphram up and down. What happens is that it gets stuck open and chokes the motor at idle. For some reason or another, these symptoms are lesser in cold weather.

I have had a similar problem for a year. (its been haunting me). Tried replacing so many parts: dizzy, injectors. wires, plugs, ect sensor, fuel puimp, fuel pressure regulator, the list goes on. It was always less worse during the winter. But my symptoms were hesitation during acceleration, like it would feel jerky while giving consistent throttle. I just got done cleaning my EGR (there was a lot of carbon inside and formed around the part that opens the diaphram. Its safe to say, it fixed my problem.

Cool!!! So far it seems like the EGR valve. I'll check that out as soon as I can. If that does'nt work I'll check out the 02 sensor as well. My A/F gauge hasnt really been working as well.

Thanks guys!! I'll give yall an update when I try those ideas out.
