is that what aem says i dont remember. well it does put your air filter down in passenger side of front bumper just infront of wheel well. so if you went through a really big puddle on your right you just might hydro-lock. i have driven in the rain and got my filter soaked(due to poor bumper fit/fixed now)without so much as a sputter. i would say though if you decide to go w/v2 you will want to avoid puddles and driving in heavy rain. the v2 is composed of 2 sections so you could pull off bottom section and put filter on end of top section (kind of like a long short ram) if you knew you were going to drive in the rain. oh and another fun fact about the v2 (not trying to dissuade you at all but) you have to remove and replace the tranny mount on the right side w/aems that the bottom part mounts to. this really wasnt as hard as it may seem i did it and im no mechanic. just to let you know its not the easiest to install.

yeah instructions come with as well as repacement tranny mount. my problems w/v2 were: three inputs on upper piece where iat goes in(i only need 2 with my 98 civic there is an extra nipple on v2 which i plugged) i did install a short ram on my fathers 99 and if i remember right he had an third nipple on dac short ram so i would assume you have 3 spots as well. now for the tranny mount. the stock mount is in the way of the lower pipe so it has to go the insructions tell you to remove the knucle for the tranny mount and put on aem tranny mount. this could not be done in my car that knuckle was welded in place. so i used one of the original bolts 4 tranny (aem gives you shorter ones with v2 because there mount is half as thin as oem mount. i emailed aem about this and got no reply. i do recomend the v2 power is nice for cai. install will require removal of right tire as well as splash guard and front bumper just so you know what your getting into.

ummm not to be rude but what do you base seems like on? is that like what you say when you dont really know but just think you do. now im really not trying to get on you about this its just that there are so many of these type of responses to new products. the frame locks for example and every one is so quick to dismiss a new product with out actually trying to understand the tech behind it. i feel that since we are a part of a community working with modern technology its a direct contradiction to be so closeminded.

yes, be another civic driver that thinks his V2 intake with bypass valve makes his car faster than the next bolt on civic... believe everything you read in those import tuning magazines and be happy... OR you can save up for some real mods/swap or whatever. Not bashing but, I went through this ordeal too, and eventually you realize its not worth it, if you wanna go fast, stop obsessing on the small insignificant parts and og for somn big.

ok. 1) i know a v2 doesnt add ALOT of hp. 2) bypass valve doesnt work with v2 3) right now, im just doing little things to my car until (when i get older) can afford a nicer/newer car, and then turbo/swap if needed. turbo/swapping is not my goal right now. i do own a few of those import tuning magazines, but i dont believe everything they say. right now, it would take me months, maybe years to save up for a turbo/swap. and trust me, i dont think my civic is super fast or anything. im not a ricer. i know my car isnt very fast. thanks for the advice though

..... He wants more power...... I am just saying that if he wants POWER then not to rely on a bolt on intake for that.

A swap or turbo kit would be best bet to get some actual numbers.

The reason I think the V2 is a gimmick is because it employs NO new technologies, has too much hype around it, I have failed to see any substantial gains compared to other CAIs , and they are chargin 300dollars for a bent tube with a filter on the end of it.,
