engine bearings/rod bearings????
hey everyone-
so i dont want to flake in any way at all on this engine. i need new bearings, rod/main/crank, and im curious to know what you all think. im definitely thinking oem and spend the extra cash, but i keep seeing these other things, like king bearings... i found those for a gooood price too. anyone know about them? or how about the acl ones? any suggestions help here. im on a budget, but ill spend the extra if necessary, thats for sure!

What motor is this for?
I went with ACL bearings from www.camp1320.com. Got them all for $105 shipped (mains/rods/thrust).

Measuring Bearing Gap: http://www.c-speedracing.com/howto/b...s/bearings.php
I actually called the dealership yesterday. They can give you the recommended gap for your motor. Also, if you have the block apart they can tell you what 'color' bearing to get based on the codes stamped on the block. These codes will tell them the right combination of what bearing to sell you. They actually sold me one set that was too thick and I could see major wear when I removed it after only 15k mi.
This time, I took my block to my machinist and had them do the measuring for me. I'm within spec now and ready to rumble. hih
