Default Power through my ground wire..why?

Ok guys...new to this site so if its in the wrong place move at will. Now, on w/ my question and comment....for some reason 2 weeks ago my car died getting off of the highway and i have no spark for some reason. Put a new coil and ignitor in and still no spark.. ive been tryin to fig. this thing out since it stopped and i came to the conclusion (using a test light about 3 days ago) that im getting power in my ground wire on my coil for some reason...why could this be happening? Ive tried different internals (out of a 95 civic ex distributor) and still getting power through my ground wire. All of my connections are correct and ive tried an ecu. My setup is as follows: 93 hatch w/ boosted b18c1. Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

How did you use this test light? Probe to the negative and one to ground, or in series? If you hooked it up in series, your test proves nothing other than the fact that you actually have power going to your coil.

its wasnt in a relay...i used a 'probe'....(peace of wire connected to the ground on the battery and the other end on a light...touch te metal on the light (bulb ....12v of course) to the positive and negative and it lights up....but if i tough it to anything else (any other ground) the light doesnt come on...anyways....why would this be happening?

That ground wire is open? Take a multimeter, set it to measure resistance. Disconnect that ground wire, measure the resistance of the wire to ground. It should be zero, short, or however your meter displays that.

If that wire is broken somewhere before it gets to ground, you'll see +12v in it while you're trying to start it.

Or.... Don't trust that ground wire, run a whole new ground wire. If you want to ghetto it just for a test, connect a wire from that ground over to the (-) battery post.
