Default First night racing!

y0, today is my first night at the strip. i just bought a helmet, it's a 1/8 track so it's pretty small but good for me.

i'm running an 99 ls b18b w/ basic bolts I/H/E. i'm curious to see my times before going turbo. wish meh luck!

Congrats man. Not sure how that all translates to 1/4 times. Not much of an 1/8 guy, myself.

Those times translate to a mid 16. Not too bad for a bolton LS, should be a little quicker though.

mid 16? not bad

the part which i had most trouble on was the launch, the best to rev at for my car is 2500 i figured out, (practicing in parking lots). but when i get up at the light... i have like 3 seconds to get my rev right and also looking at the light... i found myself reving at like 4,-5000 rpm so i spun crazy.

eventually i just didn't launch and i still spun, i spun when i shifted at 6,500 rpm to 2nd gear! the track was pretty bad, but.. non-the less my reaction sucked.

My n/t dsm and your LS is very similar. The powerband is about the same and the gearing is almost identical. I rev to about 3500-4000 and just slip the clutch. I usually get a little bark from the tires or very little wheel spin and it has given me low 2.2 60's and one time a 2.18.

So you're averaging high 10's... I would have expected around 10 flat from that setup.

My stock engine does 10 flat (15.5 quarter) without much effort. :dunno:
