you're looking at removing your transmission, and having it rebuilt with a different gear where 5th used to be.

It's a process probably best left to a tranny shop.

Yea.. I'm not serious about racing my car...just want a larger 5th gear so I don't wear out the engine while driving on freeways (and a higher top speed would be nice). Any idea as to about how much this would cost?

never heard of it done, 5th gear is pretty well tuned, i think the cost would be alot more than the benefit. but it couldn't hurt,

after changing tire diameter, the speedometer will be off. How do I adjust it in my 95 accord dx? It really did change the gearing.

You have to adjust the VSS (Vehicle Speed Sensor) located somewhere on/near the axle. Don't do it.

that'll make a graph to show what tire sizes will do when u change them.

it says
195/50-15's at 4000rpms will be at 81mph
195/60-15 at 4000rpms will be at 83mph.

im sure u can mess around with it a little more to make it better.
