Q: leather panel keeps falling off
I have a 99 Accord coupe with a small problem. There is a triange leather panel (passenger side, back seat), which keeps falling off. I cannot find a way to re-attach it firmly, as many glues I tried dont work well on plastic/rubber surfaces. My most effective improvised solution was to use duck tape on both surfaces, roughen the tape and then use epoxy glue (one that comes in 2 tubes, designed for plastic). It lasts a few months, but it takes a sever people brushing against panels's edge when entering the car and the thing falls off...
Here are pics to give a better idea: https://people.creighton.edu/~pjo89074/panel1.jpg https://people.creighton.edu/~pjo89074/panel2.jpg Anyone can provide suggestions on this matter? |
Uh it looks like you broke all of the clips off that hold it to the panel
|
Unfortunatelly they were ripped off when I bought this car:(

go buy new clips, should cost you about 20 bucks total.

Wow, I wonder what dumbass did that?
Are the clips permanently attached to the leather panel or are they removeable? If they're permanent, just go buy some strong ass 3M double face tape and put it all over or maybe some of that really strong adhesive spray in a can. If they're seperate just buy clips, which will require removing that panel to install (easy). |
if you really want to go the cheaper route, clear construction adhesive, silicone, or some other "flexible" adhesive from the hardware store will sufice.
