DIY Strut bars? Possible?
Hey,
I was just pondering for a little bit. Would it be possible to create a strut bar if you had the correct measurements needed? I mean, could you go out, get some strong metal pieces, cut them into the correct sizes, and have a shop weld them together for you? Maybe I'd be easier just to buy one, but do you guys think its possible?

i have access to tig welders and plenty of stainless steel. i might start making some this summer if i have the time and sell them. it will be a one piece design if i do make it, similar to the mugen one in looks tho
hmm...to be honest with you I rather spend the 30$ for the oem gsr strut bar or get a type r replica then buy a homeade strut bar....thats just me though. If you end up doing it though goodluck!
your best bet is to cut a rather thick sheet of steel to fit over the strut bolts on each side. Leave a space on the end long enough to weld square tubing to. Make the custom strut bar out of square steel tubing, weld everything together, and viola. That should probably work better than any generic strut bar with moving parts.
