DIY Muffler
Yeah but that is assuming you are ok with it sounding like complete shit. Muffler only systems are rice and don't provide any hp gains. Stick with the whole catback system or don't do it at all.
1) Raise car, support on jackstands or ramps.
2) Unbolt the stock axle-back.
3) Bolt on replacement stock axle-back.
4) Drop car back down.
Don't use an aftermarket "performance" muffler with the stock pipes. It will look like hell, sound like hell, and you won't gain anything from it... plus, you'd have to weld it on. "Performance" axle-backs are just as useless. If you want it to make a difference, you'll need an entire cat-back (and an intake, header, and test pipe or high flow cat.)

yep, and expensive
im not sure how your going from being cheap and ghetto to buying an apexi catback. lol seems like a big jump to me
if you want to be inexpensive buy all the piping yourself, get it all mocked up, have a friend or a shop weld it together for you with some type of aftermarket muffler
