Replacing headlight bulbs
I've looked everywhere, even searched this forums but couldn't find it. Therefore, i want to ask someone that is nice enough to tell me how to install headlight bulbs on a 99 civic coupe without taking off the bumper. My sister hands are really thin, so she'll be able to reach small places. Thanks
EZ, refer to your manual.
#1 you don't have to take off the bumper to just change headlight bulbs. Find the harness plug, remove it by squeezing it. Then remove the rubber cover. Then you push the retaining clip to one side. Pull out the bulb and reverse order to install. Don't forget NOT to touch the new bulb or you will greatly reduce the life of the bulb.

You can touch the new bulb just not with your hand. Wear a glove if you want to handle it (although I see no reason why you should need to). The oil from your hands basically causes the bulb to blow out extremely quickly. You'll take it out, look at it wondering what happened, and see your fingerprint right on the bulb and smack yourself.
Hi there everybody. Great forum by the way. I'm looking to replace the old fading yellow headlights in my recently acquired 92 civic. Can anybody tell/show me how to change the bulbs? I read the manual, and it showed me how to replace the bulbs, but it doesn't how me how to GET to the bulbs. So if anybody can help, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks!
same process. you should be able to get to them from right behind the headlights (while your hood is up). pull the plug off, remove rubber boot/cover, move the clip/retainer, and pull out the bulb.
