Default Help about installing coilovers

Wat's up everyone..
I drive a 1993 Civic Si hachback, I just recently bought myself coilovers ( just the sleeves) they are tom motorsports.
I've heard some haunting stories about how your struts just die out as soon as you slam the car.
But I really wanna put them on
Any suggestions or recommandations while I install them and after install
thanks

you should buy new shocks depending on how low you go. i would just as a precaution. also-after you lower it, you'll want an alignment

one of those just depends things...i got skunk2 coilovers on old stock struts and they're doin just fine. i mean don't ride real smooth, but don't expect it to without expensive aftermarket shocks. never got an alignment, tires don't wear, and i've had them anywhere from 2 inches, to like 4 and a half which is all the way down. so it's just one of those things...depends on the car and how much little things bother you

Definitely get some struts if you are going to drop you car, especially if you want the full effect of the drop except or asethetics only. I went on stock struts (I have about a 2 1/4" drop) for about 6 months, and all of them were busted. Since then I bought some KONI Yellows and a Skunk2 front camber kit, and my car handles like a dream. The ride is sporty to say the least, but I can corner with the best of them.

what type of coilovers do you have??

and are you talking about actually putting the sleeves onto the struts??

swaggs-um they are a cheap no name brand(i know shoot me already..but i'll be picking up skunk2's late summer)
and yes, actually putting the sleeves on the struts etc.. cuz there are those rubber rings(came with the coilovers) and stuff. i'm not exactly sure how it all goes together.
