has anyone messed with fiberglass? if so what would i need besides fiberglass sheets? hardener? what else.. i need to patch up hood.. do you think it would look silly if i patched up where mesh is at?

Just sell that hood on ebay and buy an OEM style CF hood. It will look awful it you try to fiberglass the holes up. :)

go to www.termpro.com. and go to the fabrication forum-you will find EVERYTHING, i mean EVERYTHING you need to know about fiberglass there.

fiberglass is easy, and if you take your time it wouldtn look weird if you patched that hood up, but i dunno what the top looks like. just get some fiberglass mat or whatever, resin and hardener, mix it up, use it like paper mache, and lay it on the underside of the hood. then youd have to use a body filler on the top to make it nice and smooth, which is the harder part.

What do you guys think if i placed insulation under the hood off another vehicle? I was thinking maybe i was going to cut out the exact shape of where i need it and seal it with some kind of sealant.. Is the insulation off vehicle rain resistant?
