Ls Engine Build
I have a 93 Integra Ls with hight miles and Im trying to boost the power. I have all the parts for a mild turbo 5-6 PSI boost and have new valve springs, and was planing on haveing the head ported and polished, and have the valves reseated. I was wondering what I had to do to the bottom end to get it ready for the restored compression, and added pressure. the only problem is I'm on a tight budget and can only afford to do the minimun, to make sure my car dosent turn into a smoke bomb.
you should be able to make almost 300hp on a stock LS motor, if you can get the headwork cheap, go for it, otherwise it does not really increase the reliability of the motor.
For reliability replace the wear items, rings, water and oil pumps, gaskets and seals, maybe get a block hone, and you shoudl be ready to rock.

thicker head gasket, port and polish the head, air and fuel ratio <-- important, check oil often<-- dont run too dry or too full, valves and springs upgrade, cams upgrade, port and polish intake manifold, upgrade throttle body 68mm should help, get s-afc, dsm 450 injectors, if on the budget dont touch the block yet.. once u start on that it's going to keep going.. with all that done run 7psi daily, 10psi on the track once in a while.. repeat once in a while, and dont try to rev too high.. keep it around 8500rpm <-- u kill ur engine faster that way on turbo unless it fully built to rev to 10k
