I followed up on my blower motor problem today. Here is a run-down of what I did:

Symptom: non-functional blower motor.

Fix:
1) Checked switch for function: switch worked.
2) Checked blower resistor for breakage: resistor was fine.
3) Removed blower motor: motor was internally worn out.

Once I was inside the motor, it was very obvious what the problem was. Here is a picture of the motor partially disassembled, you can see all the brown dust clumps that fell out:

On to the problem:

At the top, you can see that originally the wire is connected to the spring loaded "thingie." At the bottom, the connection should be the same, however the other little electrode "thingie" (I am holding it) wore down so far as to slip out of it's spring loaded shaft and be ripped from the wire. There was no longer any continuity to the system, and the motor failed. Unfortunately they do not sell those little parts, so I have to replace the whole motor wth one from a junk car or buy a new one from Honda for $200+, unless someone here wants to sell me one.

I hope this helps any of you who may experience the same problem, or explain why your motor had to be replaced if it has been.

 

Those "thingies" are brushes and yes, they are quite worn out.

My blower motor works just fine, but the resistors are shot

 

I've seen brushes at hardware stores, you could try to find some the same size. Or file down some bigger ones to fit.

 

hum... i got a non working blower motor in my car and a good one that works in storage i think i have something a little backwards haha
