Stripped my AC, with pictures!
I'll keep this short. I ripped the AC system out of my car.

It all ended up weighing, you guessed it, 42 pounds.

That, along with a little cleaning and the earlier removal of a parasitic control box left a nice open space. Now I can see the ground from topside!

All this was done it my pathetic front-of-the-driveway workspace.

I'm happy, because I just stripped 42lbs out of a car that was only 1797lbs from the factory. I already stripped out a lot of vacuum crap and it doesn't even have a radio right now (yes, it's getting replaced). This car is on a serious diet, but hey, lighter is faster.
Oh, and I decided I'm not selling it... I'm selling the RX-7 so I can swap a B18A into this. After a little more cash, it will probably be converted into an LS/VTEC.

The Number 1 Control box. It has a lot of vacuum actuated bits and peices that are less then nessicary for normal operation of the D15A3 and completely useless with any B-series swap. The car runs just fine without, and it's 10x simpler to work on now. If you see an underhood picture of a "normal" 3G Si and look at the area I have a picture of above, the right side of the engine is completely filled by the big plastic #1 box and a few dozen vac lines snaking everywhere. Cleaner looking is just a byproduct of the simplification process
good job buddy, i enjoy having the most simplistic car i can, a/c, power steering, power accessories, ehh i dont really need that stuff, just another system that goes wrong and eventually needs maintanance, repair or replaced. if i want luxury i drive the altima, if i want fun its crx all the way
