car won't start.. help??
 

ok.. got this 87 crx si for $250 the other day. it started fine the other day, but it ran out of gas. i put gas in it and now it won't fire at all. i checked the ignition system and it's getting plenty of spark. i put in new plugs and wires because it needed them anyway. it looked like it still had the original ones from the factory in there. when it turns over there's a strong gasoline smell in the engine compartment. could the fuel pump have gone bad from running it out of gas? any suggestions? let me know.

the old fuel injection systems have trouble starting if they run out of gas...kinda like the old diesels

i've never had a car run out of gas so i don't know what you should do...call your dealer and ask...if i have a question they are usually the first i call...they know my car better than anyone (even me)
