Lsd?
I'll be doing a B16A swap on a CRX soon, and I am wondering if I should also splurge on a LSD. Handling is very important to me and I can't stand understeer either BUT I am also running with very limited funds for this car.
I was thinking that one of the old JDM trannies that come with LSDs for a few hundred bucks might be an option. Is this LSD worth it? I've heard that CRXs don't really understeer very badly for a FWD and can be tuned well using antisway bars.
So what do you guys think? Is an LSD essential? Would the money be better spent if it was used on the suspension instead?

If you want absolute performance, you can't get around eventually getting an LSD. I say splurge on one upfront, stall your modding timeframe for a bit, and be better off for it. Either the stock gear type Honda LSD or Quaife LSD [lifetime warranty, even for racing
] would be my choice, I'm not a fan of jerky engaging/disengaging clutch types.

I have got a Quaife and I love it. I really questioned if it would be worth it when i bought it, but it has been. Aside from the performance is the peace of mind of strength, stock diffs are very weak. I broke my stock diff the first time out on slicks, it came apart and destroyed the whole trans. When i got my new tranny i didnt want to take that chance again.
keep costs down (they can significantly skyrocket...trust me!)...the crx is pretty light so wheel slippage isn't a big problem and the b16a isn't a very torquey engine...enjoy the fruits of the swap with the s1/j1 trannies (they are geared a little better for acceleration than the ys1 stock lsd trannies)
if you plan on often racing it (track time) once done then the lsd is a good consideration
you can enjoy the car and save up for one later (either by buying a whole new tranny or getting a quaife unit)

So it seems like the best combo is to use the aggressive non-lsd tranny coupled with a Quaifie...
How much are Quaife LSDs? They're super-expensive aren't they?
I'm so poor
