the head bolts are not torque to yield and may be re-used

i wouldnt chance it on 22 year old headbolts

change the headbolts coz im sure they stretched out too specially with the high temp.

Just replace the headbolts. You can get some nice ARP ones, or aftermarket. Never re-use headbolts.
