are the transmissions from the 87 Si cars different from the 88-91 Si cars? My 91 CRX is gonna need a tranny soon, the bearings are getting pretty noisy. I don't have the time or the work space for a rebuild, so I gotta go with a swap.

I have an excellent-condition 87 Si transmission, out of my housemate's car. Will that gearbox fit into my car? The gear ratios seem really similar, if not identical to my own car. thanks

 

Unfortunately the mounts are in different places, and it won't bolt up to your engine.

 

and it is much weaker to boot.
