Default Fuel Injectors-Which one is Primary and which is Auxillary?

I pulled a code off of my civic and I believe it's the fuel injector. Which one is primary and which one is auxillary? I only have two and one is located higher than the other.

thanks

Bryan

we need more info...what year and model Civic you have

for 87 and older many were carb'd still with the Si's having MPFI (4 injectors fed fuel in the intake manifold right before the valves - what standard fuel injection is now considered)...some other models may have had a fuel injection setup

for 88-91 the dx, standard had DPFI (2 injectors fed fuel after the tb into the intake manifold)...the si and crx HF models came with MPFI standard

you could have a dx wtih MPFI who a previous owner converted it over making it more confusing

i'm not sure what you mean by auxillary

Is the dual point system staged?

Well, in RX-7's, there are two primary injectors that work from 0-3800RPM, and over 3800 the primary injector duty is cut in half and two secondary injectors come online to split the difference. That is staged fuel injection, and is very unusual for piston engine cars.

If DPFI computers run one injector up to a certain RPM, then cut in half bringing the second online to take up the other half... that would suprise me. Anyone know the flow rate of DPFI injectors?

I have a civic 89. It has two injectors. upper one is primary and lower one is secondary. The when both injectors are pluged in car does not work properly and give black smoke and sometimes engine goes off, and does give give good mialage, but when I unpluged the primary injector, every thing works fine when check light is on. I wanted to know that Using my car with a secondary injector would effect engine or anything else? or it is fine?
