Default Speedometer not working, solution anyone?

My speedometer along with every other thing on my gauge cluster isnt working, im not too worried about the rest of the stuff just the speedo. i checked the cable and it has a good amount of grease on it and i made sure it was in the hole all the way until the little clip snapped in place but it still doesnt work... i know the cable runs to the tranny but where is it exactly at? what can i do to fix this problem? it sucks not knowing how fast i am going

look at the back of the tranny right on top of the differential. there is a speed sensor the other end of the cable runs to. make sure it completely seated. inside is a gear that spins the cable. if its not in all the way it won't work.
as for everything else, make sure its all plugged in

Or you can hit the junkyard or get a sir cluster. I eventually need to get me another cluster so I can have a working tach .

i checked out the plug that goes into the tranny and found this stuff; the cable was loose from the rest of the assembly and the large plug looking thing was not in the hole all the way and inside there was a small yellow gear with a rod on it, at the end of this rod is where the cable is supposed to latch on im guessing, thing is the cable wouldnt stay together with the gear... i went to every parts store and no one carries these parts so should i check the honda dealer to see if they carry it? and does anyone know how to put all that back together? i tried everything i could and in the end i noticed once in awhile while driving the needle moved about a millimeter then went back down. cant hit up junkyards til spring since all the ones around here are closed due to snow.
