Default knock sensor????

to make this story short. My friend did a head swap from a non-vtech head to a v-tech z6 head. he even got the conversion harness from obd0-obd1. everything work's find but he keeps on having engine light on. we did a engine code reading and it gives us 23 which is the knock sensor. But as we all know that the non-vtech don't have any knock sensor on a d16a6 block. my question is; Is there any way to by pass the knock sensor so that the engine light will not go on?

Ground the D3 pin, if it really is throwing a code 23. It shouldn't, since P28's don't read a knock sensor.

thank you kai, it works by grounding the d3 pin. I myself thought that the p28 don't read a knock sensor but some how it does.

No problem, I'm just confused that a D-series computer, in the 5th gen, needed a knock sensor...

BTW, grounding the D3 pin is making the computer think there is zero knock. Anything above 0 volts represents predetonation, so you should consider adding a factory knock sensor.
