Default Engine Ticking

I just got my oil changed, and I hear a ticking noise, not really a knocking sound. Anyone know how to stop it? It only does it for about 5 minutes when I start my car then it stops. I put 4 1/2 quarts of Mobil 1 10w30 motor oil.

Are you sure it takes 4.5 quarts? Have your valve clearances checked. Sometimes noise like that is normal for the first few minutes until the engine warms up.

But I was guessing something with the oil because it happened right after I got my oil change. I am going to buy the Lucas synthetic additive

I am now starting to think valve adjustment, because I am guessing there is a gap and it sticks which causes a ticking noise, and when the car warms up it stops bcuz it makes the metal expand
