i just picked up a 89 crx si. i thought it might be the exhaust, the guy had 2.5" piping with no cat, i replaced the cat and went to two inches. i got more torque but the car still sputters sometimes.

i changed out the spark plugs and reset the computer? did anyone else have this problem? could it be the fuel filter or injectors or? any ideas would be appreciated!

 

Did you check to see if your VTEC Solenoid Valve is any good?

 

what motor do you have?

 

stock si motor.

if it was the vtec solonoid wouldnt it throw a code error and wouldnt the check engine light come on?

 

stock 89 si motors? they are not VTEC
