honda trouble
 
i ahve an 87 crx and when i get goin about 80 it wont go faster then that like it just stops goin faster and its not redlinning or anythign it just wont go past 80 please help me

Well, if it's the hf, i don't think they went much more than 80. :) Anyway, it could be a number of things. Carburator probs, ignition or spark probs, etc., etc. If you described in detail, does it have problems accelerating etc., then somebody could probably help out a little more.

its an auto trans. and it wont shift so i have to let off the gas and it will shift but other then that it is in good cond. the engine doesnt rattle or make any other weird noises. it just stops at 80 there is no lack of gas it doesnt miss or anything it just stops at 80 and it is a DX model, or so that is what i was told.. how can you tell what model you have?? and my engine number is d15a2 (if that will help)

An automatic 1.5l carbed engine would be a DX.

Try a changing the fuel filter, then rebuilding the carburator if you want to have fun.

I really wouldn't expect it to go much faster then 80mph anyway.

i know i want a 2 gen crx but i got a 1 gen and plus i am the only crx within like 50 miles around here no one has one where im from it is hard to find them so get a new fuel filter and rebuild the carb will i get a little more MPH out of it?

Well like Kai said earlier "I really wouldn't expect it to go much faster then 80mph anyway" and where are you at so I make sure I dont move there...lol..jk...:)
