Default 1st gen crx carb emissions removal

i was wondering if any of you knew how to take all that vacuum crap off a 1st gen crx... ive heard you can do it and it doesnt really harm emissions?? personally i think it would make for a better looking engine. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Doesn't really hurt emissions, helps very mildly on engine performance, and doesn't hurt fuel economy one bit. It does, however, make the engine a lot easier to work on.

Here are some pics that should let you see what needs plugged, and what vacuum items still need to be hooked up to keep the engine running properly.

The line with the metal tube goes over to the charcoal canister just because it's a little cleaner than just letting that port vent to atmosphere.

I've been working (slowly and lazily) on an article about this. Here it is so far: http://www.bay-town.com/members/tanvan/emission.html

You can do all the removal without unbolting the carb.

basically hook up the lines like you see in my pics and then remove all the other lines and control boxes. plug anything that looks like an open port on the carb, and then drive the car to make sure there isn't any funny behavior.

shouldn't have any problems, when I did it I just removed vacuum lines, the choke didn't really work anyways, the only thing is if you don't have the secondary vacuum stuff hooked correctly you suck the float bowl dry and it won't accelerate above 3500 RPM. If you get everything right, it'll behave just fine.
