when you swap the engine ,do you buy the exhaust for the engine , or the car?

If your buying a header you need one for the engine type you have. You regular exhaust should be for your car type.

Note that it will take a custom midpipe or other exhaust modification to get them to bolt together. Any exhaust shop can do that for you, just be careful to not get ripped off.
