you gonna keep the hf motor? I'm gonna go 2 1/4 on my si hatch. I wouldn't probably go bigger than 2 inch on the hf. If you get like a resonator or something in there it will help with the sound

exaust shops have them. they're like a catylatic converter shaped thing that make the sound a little quieter without reducing the flow too much like the cat does. My car has one stock. Your car might also

agreed. 2" is the max dia for an engine as small as the hf's.

If you plan on swapping, size the pipe to the engine you want to put in. Any exhaust you design around the HF will be a waste of time, so you might as well build something you'll want to use in the future.

Plan ahead to save time and money.

2.25" is the largest you'll ever need for a non forced induction daily driver application for the 1.6

i have run 2 1/4 and 2 1/2 stainless mandrel bent in my stock 89 crx si but i never run a cat or resinator and the 2.5 flows alot better and i ran much better times with it too, thats right from the factory dp to the dynomax super turbo 2.5 in and 2.5 out muffler.

i rather my car sound nasty, lol, and flow better than some restrictive exhaust that makes your car sound stock.
