97 Acura 3.2 TL - Alarm System / Locks
On occasion my alarm (horn honking) goes off for no apparent reason. The dealer can not duplicate the problem - therefore does not know how to repair. In what I believe is a related problem, the other day while I stepped out of the car while it was running, the doors locked. The dealer said this should not have happened but has no idea why it did. The remote would not even work - I had to put the key into the door lock to open. I bought the car a couple of years ago used but everything is stock as far as I know. Has anybody else had either of these problems? Any suggestions for me (or the dealer) to help diagnose?
Thanks.
Thanks.
I think your remote is busted. Probably the "arm" button is stuck intermittenly. Try to get a new remote and see if it works.

most likely it is a door actuator the drivers door. This is an expensive shot in the dark but when all other ave have been looked at this seems to fix it everytime. the actuator has 3-4 different sensors in it and since it is used the most it seems to go bad telling the sercurity system that the door is open even if it is'nt. hope this helps
I know that this is an old thread, but for anyone who has experienced this problem, they know how frustrating it can be for the alarm (horn honking) and power door lock clicking to be going off, for no apparent reason, all hours of the day and night. I had this problem and had searched the internet for possible causes and found the answer on another forum. It was finally corrected by replacing the car's battery even though I wasn't experiencing any noticeable battery problems.
