fastest way to replace 97 tl 2.5 distributor cap
what is the fastest, or easiest way to replace the distributor cap
on the 97 tl 2.5? it is extremely cramped next to the firewall.

Quite a fancy engine you've got there, considering it was the "base" version of the car. I've never worked on, or even seen, that engine bay. I realize the engines (both the 2.5 and 3.2) being mounted longitudinally might make it more difficult to remove the dist. cap, but it can't be impossible. I suppose worse case scenario, if there's no room to pull the cap out, away from the distributor (to clear the coil, I'm assuming it's inside the dist. on that car), you could remove the mounting bolts on the distributor, and take it off the car - marking it's position or checking/setting the ignition timing when you reinstall it.
