Default Can 3.0L CL trans be fixed?

My son's 98 3.0CL Acura has 70K miles and can't decide when to shift from 1 to 2. Under light load, it's fairly normal. Under heavy load, it revs out to 3 - 4K RPM and shifts hard. All other shifting is normal. Question is, can this trans be fixed and is it the linear solenoid? How does one get to the solenoids? Does it have to be dropped? Only CEL code is the clogged EGR. Any recommendations given the age and being a salvaged title? Thanks

I have a 97 CL3.0 with 180,000 miles on it. I'm the original owner. I am on transmission #6. Acura has taken care of me for the most part. I've only had to pay for 1 transmission. All of them had the same shifting difficulty. I think you're stuck with replacing the transmission.

take it to Acura ( Acura tech here ) they will or should good will it. If they don't, call up Honda care and bitch a up a storm and they will cover a new trans for you.
