HandsFreeLink-Problems with New 04 TL
I have had my Acura since Sept and immediately paired my motorola phone to my handsfreelink (easy)It has worked well until recently. I switched to Cingular, got a motorola razor and paired it the same way. It has worked well for 3 weeks and all of a sudden has stopped working.
When I get in the car and start her up the phone icon does not show in the status bar above the Nav system. The cell phone indicates that it is connected and only gives me the option to drop. In fact when I voice dial a call it seems to be working but the car drops the call shortly after connecting while the cell phone remains connected. I have deleted the pair, paired again but no change. The cell phone has no trouble with connecting to other bluetooth devices including a headset (no, this is not active in the car).
I have also noticed that the car continues to indicate that it is connected to the cell phone even after I drop the connection. On a last, and possibly unrelated note, the outside temperature indicator shows no reading. Both of these problems showed at the same time.
Any ideas before I head to the dealership?

Dr K

Sounds like a bad unit, I've replaced a few with symtoms you are describing. You should take it in. I would have your advisor order a new control unit before you come in that way you don't have your car down more than a day, I doubt highly they will have one in stock.
Thanks, I appreciate the advice.
I did call the dealership. They will not, however, preorder the HFL unit as they say it is too expensive. Looks like I'll have to wait a week to find out I will need to wait another week to get it replaced.

thats great customer service huh? they can of course send it back if that's not the problem you know...Basically they make you wait cause they don't want to pay the 10 bucks it takes to ship it back to honda. I would do it for you if you lived near me.
Interesting! I have the exact problem that you have described with my '04 TL. Even to the extent that I am paired with the RAZR phone. My outside temperature reading also failed at the same time. I have an appt. tomorrow for service and will probably need two trips as was mentioned in the above threads to get the control unit replaced.
