Default all you audio guys

i figured now that my integra is running pretty hard.. time to upgrade the audio aspect.. to be completly honest.. i dont even know how big my front speakers are...i really never was into audio.. but here my question.. i have a pioneer head unit powering my stock 2000 gsr speaker(whatever they are and whatever size they are) and also powering my 3 10'' Mtx road thunders... dont get me wrong i think it sounds pretty damn good for me.. its loud and pretty clear with a good amount of bass..anyways.. im thinking about changing my front two speakers...i want something that is plug and play.. basically i just wanna take my stock ones out and throw new ones in.. without having to trim or anything like that.. my budget would be like anything cheaper than say 130- 150.. so im sure i can get some good ones besides its just for the front two.. so give me some good reccomendations.. thanks...

This should probably be in the audio forum, but you've got 6 1/2" components up front. Finding quality speakers for $130-150 might be a challenge.

I'd recommend Boston Acoustics or JL Audio components, depending on your preference. Diamond Audio makes really nice stuff also. I'd find a local shop, give them a listen, pick what you like best. It's going to cost you for quality, just a heads up.

If you've got a 2dr, you've got 6 1/2" coaxials in back, those can be swapped for $150 for a nice set. They're more for fill sound, I'd do the fronts first and add the rears later.

for most 6 1/2"s....you're gonna have to cut the trim behind them because they're too deep.

and if you're gonna get speaker, you should get components...and for $150, they're probably not gonna be that good (better than the stock ones, though).

yea thats gonna be the biggest problem, finding a set of speakers with a shallow mounting depth.

since you are powering it using the HU, i would just get some coax.

the $150 budget isnt so bad.

u can get a set of lanzars for that price range. i have a set, they're not bad, but i could have done better. head over to your best buy & get a set of rockford fosgates. probably your best bet for 6 1/2" in that price range. i have a 95 ls & it came w/ 5 1/4 around but i managed to get 6 1/2 in the front, big improvement in mid bass. boston's are nice, but the diamond is a better speaker. your looking around the 350 range for the diamonds mid line. $100 cheaper than boston & i think they sound a heck of a lot better.

ummmmmm
no he doesnt, he has 5.25 inch speakers in the stock location plus a tweeter.

I installed my alpine components and had to make a 1 inch spacer to make them fit along with cutting the door a bit

I got a set of alpine components in my teg, sound great. I think they are the 176, got them for about 170 from ebay.

He could get the Kenwood DualMag 6 1/2's and wont have to do any cutting trimming or likewise. Plug and play. I would imagine you could find them withing your price range.

Well my Alpine SPR-176A (Woofer Mounting Depth (in) : 2-3/4") components just needed a 1 inch spacer to fit in the hole to mount. other than that they are

The Integra has 6.5 all around (except 6x9 in the rear deck for sedans)....HOWEVER, 5.25 have been known to fit with little work. The standard for 6.5's is not the same across the brands, in case you haven't noticed. Yes, that means that one 6.5 speaker might have a slightly larger diamater than another 6.5 speaker. This explains why the 5.25's fit. But let it be known now, 6.5 is the size for the G3 Integra.
