North America vs. other receivers... difference!?
What is the difference!? Does it have something to do with frequency interval(s)!? I think it does...
Help!? |
its a different frequency set, like am is to fm. I can't remember the signal offhand, but I have check. I have a european stereo at one of my friends places with it, so I can get back to you.

Thank you, 18secFerio, for your help...
I understand that some brands/manufacturers come w/ a toggle switch to switch between North American & other countries' AM/FM band set. Which would those include!? |
I could be wrong.. but far as I know..
Korea / USA same frequency.. even TV.. NTSC.. Japan = they use lower FM frequency. 89.1 and below.. Europe = FM frequency goes up by multiple of 0.5.. (for example.. 91.5, 92.0, 92.5.. etc..) |
European bands go 98.15, 98.20 etc
Ours go 98.1 98.2 98.3 etc Most are not European compatible. For example, Pioneer and Sony will not do this while JVC will. |
So, could I use a european receiver here in the US!?
|
so is my home stereo european. it goes in .05 increments. mebbe they just made it universal for US and europe so it'd be easier for them.
|
Yes, an European receiver should work here, but wont you find that when it stops on .05 channels annoying?
Also, I am not sure about end and start spectrums. For example, 88.10 to 107.5 here (roughly), where does European start and end. Lastly, what about AM? --and your warranty. |
