System Upgrade...

I currently have a 1000 watt Sony Xplod amp and 2 Sony Xplod 12'' subs. I'm looking for something that thuds a little hard cause the system I have now is ok but I get a little distortion from the subs....

What's a good amp and sub upgrade and a nice amp for midrange speakers ? Any websites that build custom boxes for civic trunks?

Lol It's pretty good...I just need some Dynomat stuff to keep the trunk from rattling so much...other than that I'm pretty happy with the extra bass....;) I guess forget that...I want to upgrade my stock speakers..

yeah, I had a sony amp. the 760 explode.

pos amp, it wasn't too clean.

for my subs, I use a kenwood 800w amp powering two kicker comp vr 12's. Combined with a Clarion HU and Kenwood speakers all around powered by a JL Audio 300/2, its pretty lethal.

also, like a turbo system for your engine, tuning is pretty vital. Not just in the HU, but with amps, crossovers, etc.

You can make a decent system sound better than it is when its tuned right.

Exactly...
Dealing w/ what you have & not spending a dime, InsertNameHere, try wiring those subs in parallel w/ the amp bridged to maximize output. Hopefully, they're arranged in this manner. And, if that's not working out, you might want a bigger amp... or completely upgrade this area.

For cheap, affordable power, US Acoustics amplifiers come to mind. (Just tune gain appriopriately.)
For good bump/thud(s), may I suggest 2 10" subs? Just make sure that they can take a healthy amount of power. Or, you can do the 2 12" thing... your choice!

And, the only online custom sub enclosure I have seen come from sounddomain.com. Aside from that, you/a friend will have to hook you up w/ a custom sub enclosure.
