flcikering lights, erratic idle
recently i got a half a cap, and a new alternator for my 12" sub and 300 watt amp...at first it seemed like it elimintaed the flickering gauge and dome lights, and headlights but now it is all back and going strong whenever i crank up the music. the idle goes up and down 100 rpms sometimes with teh bass as well. just wondering if you guys have any suggestions on what else it could be or what to do? thanks a ton

have you checked to make sure all your connections are tight? and that you have nice clean grounds, including alternator? 300 watts doing that much damage doesnt seem quite right. i have a 93 civic, original alternator, cheap battery, no cap and my lights only slightly dim when i turn it up, and thats only with the car not running ,with a 300 watt amp.

make sure where your battery grounds to the chassis is tight, pretty much any ground you see. make sure your terminal connections are clean and tight. where your amp grounds to the chassis should be sanded. and it doesnt dim when the cars not running because its only pulling current for the radio, i confused my self with my previous post, sorry. mine still only slightly dim with the car running at nght.
