Default Two JL 12's w6 need amp

Hey Peeps

I have two 12 inch JL w6 in a sealed box. I have a store credit from Best Buy. They sell Rockfort Fosgate amps. Which Punch amp is the best one to get that will give me maxium performance from these speakers. Please remember I can only get Rockfort Fosgate amps. Thanks for your help.

I'm not current with the latest line or model numbers of the RF amps, but if you have the older 12w6's, you'll either be running the subs at either 6 ohms or 1.5 ohms.

300 watts RMS a piece (so 600 watts total) is a good number for these 2 subs, so try and find an amp that can produce that kind of power at either 6 ohms or 1.5 ohms....

Yes, it would help greatly to know what ohm load will be presented and in what configuration. Are the subs wired together or seperate? What ohm load do you have on each connection? This will enable us to help figure out your best option.

Also, how much $$$ are you looking to spend/have credit for?

All I have to say is STAY AWAY FROM ROCKFORD AMPS. They are nothing but POS. If they sell alpine go for the MRDM-1000. It's a bit expensive, but well worth the money.

I disagree with civicexstacy00. I too, used to 'hate' rockfords, but that was 10 years ago and never even had owned one at the time.

I've picked up 2 different Rockford amps from Bestbuy. One 4-channel to power some MB Quart components & JL Audio 10". Another for our other car to run a Polk 10" sub. I can't complain at all about these amps. Over 2 years old and still going strong.
