sub wiring help

I have two alpine SWR-1241D (dual 4ohm)
and JBL 1200.1 amp (1200watt 2ohm and 600watt 4ohm)

This is my first time installing subs and I need a little bit (alot) of help
I want best out of this set and was thinking 600 watt to each sub. these subs are rated at 1000watt peak and 300watt rms.

how should I wire these subs to the amp. and if you could please include like a diagram or pictur of how and where each wires should go. it'd be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Those subs really aren't the best chioce for that amp. I think the best you can do is a 4 ohm final load that will only give you 600 watts you won't be able to use all of tha amps potential. They will however get 300 watts each which should be plenty loud. go to

Itll show you how to wire it up for a 4 ohm final load.

yea, i agree. that amp is overkill for those subs.

600watts to both subs:

wire each sub in series. then wire the two subs together in parallel.

1200 watts to both subs:

wire each sub in parallel. then wire the two subs together in parallel. this will present a 1OHM load to the amp. the amp will still be stable, but its going to run hotter.

I would suggest it at 1 ohm cause you might end up blowing upp your amp its only stable for 2 ohms min.

I have a BP1200 and it is stable at 1 ohm. It makes the same power (1200 watts) at both 2 and 1 ohm. It says so in the manual.:p

As for the amp choice itself, I say good job. It's better to have a bigger amp because you'll have the power ready to go if you ever upgrade to different subs requiring more power.
