Default cd changer install help

i attached my cd changer to the floor of my trunk, no, not the floor for cargo but the level beneath the cardboard right in from the spare. i atatched it to a piece of mdf and placed the mdf right on the floor. the problem is, everytime i go over a bump, the cds would skip. just wonderign what is a good solution on holding the mdf down to the floor. dont wanna screw anything if i dont have to. maybe caulk or similar?

yup. just curious, but why did you use mdf? just take the mdf off and shoot some self tapping screws through the changer brackets into the floor. it won't hurt anything. look for the gas tank first though - don't want to put a screw into that

serious, just drive screws directly into the floor? i wasn't sure if that was a good idea cuz i dont know where the gas tank is anyways, its right in front of the spare.

just use 1 1/2" stingers (drywall screws) or self tappers and shoot right into the floorpan. get under the car first and make sure you won't drill into the gas tank. trust me. i do it all day long at my job. it's the only way to do it. or mount it under the rear parcel shelf. whatever works for you. good luck

i would think it would skip no matter what since you are attaching the cdchanger onto the floor of the trunk where it is very stiff. I found its best to mount it on the back side of the seat, where the fabric and the seats themselves will absorb some vibration, thus lessening the chance of the changer from skipping.

most i've found (that work with aftermarket units through their own connections , such as Ai-net and Ce-Net) don't ground right onto a frame but the wiring itself powers and controls everything.
