sub not playing bass from cds... but it does through radio
i installed my amp and sub the other day. when i first put it in, it played bass off of a cd fine. sounded great. so i go and do somethin else.. hop in my car to go to work, nothin comes from the sub when i listen to a cd, but when i listen to the radio, the sub hits really hard and works fine.
so.. think the HU is fukked? wire loose?

IMO, it makes absolutely no sense for it to be a loose wire if it only stops during the use of the CD player. If there was a loose wire, it would be dead across all sources, or it would be intermittent across all.
If you have traced it back that it only turns off when the cd player is being used, then check the settings on your headunit.
List everything that's in your system.
Some headunits have a feature where you get different setting for each source unit - i.e. you can always cut the sub off if you are listening to AM radio.
Try hitting the reset button on your head, or pull the constant power fuse, and then try it. Taht would clear any settin that would cause this kind of condition.
Post some more info and try the above to remedy the problem.

my kenwood deck allows me to change eq settings for each source, which can include pre-out levels & muting. If the reset doesn't work, you probably have a faulty deck.
