UnderCar Neon
Hi Guys First time Posting in here...
So Lets Try this.. Civic 97 SI I just installed my Undercar neon but When I ower them on my radio is going all static...My connection are simple transformer- first neon going around the 3 others coming back to the transformer and after that I have my switch battery to switch from switch to transformer and a ground from my switch to my car frame.. also a ground from transformer to my car frame Also My Fuse doesn't last... What do you Think |
what fuse the fuse for the radio or the fuse for the car. it may be a bad ground on the transformer. or a short somewhere in the wiring.

Fuse of the transformer for the neon...
Radio is working great... when neon is not on Only little bit of static when neon are on... but now event when I put them on no static :D hehe Fuse is dead Checked my ground.. seems to be all good ... Only have the one from the transformer and one from my switch... But i think one of my neon might be defect the power doesn't go through correctly I will go change it and see :) Just call the guy and Just my luck its in Back Order  |
The concept of neon is that it requires AC current. That is why you have an inverter. Sounds to me like somewhere your AC source is not properly shielded, and it is bleeding into your radio circuitry.
I would consider running a dedicated return for it, if reccomended. Going forward, I would just tell people to use LEDs. Get the new ultra-intensity ones, they'll never break, run off of 12v DC very easily, and draw much less power... -PHiZ |
try just sticking a piece of wire from the transformer to a ground. Sometimes those case grounds don't work so great.

K thanks I'll have to do test with that
thanks guys |
