IMO, Get the W6. You really do get 80-90% of the W7 without the huge price tag, the PITA mounting system, and funky coil impedance.

I've never been a huge JL fan, but I know you can't go wrong here....but those are some expensive woofers.

A 500/1 on either would be nice.

I have a 12 W7 and that baby is the shit! I have an old straight dc power ZUES amp hooked up to it and I have the amp bridged and it still wants more power. I would rather go big then want more later and spend the cash.

jl's r priced way too high. u should look into mtx subs. mtx has good subs for good prices. maybe some mtx 8000's those would be way cheaper. also check this site out it's where i got my subs and amp from for a lot cheaper than anywhere else. http://www.woofersetc.com/store.asp

MTX 8000? Humm I think you don't know much about subs. There is no way that the 8000 will give you near what a bullshit jl will give you.

they guy asked about JL's not some other shit.

lets help him with his question, not extra shit.

W6 is a better DEAL, may not be a better WOOFER, but you'll get nearly as much for alot less $

What do you think?
as I read this, are you looking for ONLY OUTPUT? or OUTPUT with CLARITY?

if you want ONLY output, yes there are better drivers... if you want one of the best subs out there for all around musical experience...

I recently (1 month or less) purchased a 12w3 to replace the two JL audio subs that I used to have (they were stolen ) I am powering the single 12w3 with a 500/1 and I can honestly say it sounds pretty damn good. I have the gain turned down very low, and the sub volume and bass on my deck at a reasonably low level (Clarion DXZ945MP).

If you have the room, perhaps you could purchase two 10w3s and run them instead of one 10w7 and still save quite a bit of cash, probably enough to get you a really good amp (I love my 500/1). I know that this isn't exactly what your question asked, but maybe you should think about this setup, if you have not.
